In what ways were Chinese women treated post-WWII in China? What positions and traditions did they hold?

Before WWii, Chinese women were restricted to stay in China (Page law and chinese exclusion act). It was traditional to stay at home and look after the family while their husbands worked in the US. But what were the roles of Chinese women after wwii (after the chinese exclusion repeal act of 1943, war brides act of 1945, and immigration act of 1924)?
