History question lil confused?

In those years, your selections #1 &3 are correct. The attitude of all, including our government, was that if you were not white, then you were 2nd , 3rd, or 4th class and were destined to be lead by the nose. It was our destiny to be that way. Imperialism because we considered us and other European nations as civilized and all others as uncivilized, simply because their culture was alien to ours.
