I don't quite understand this Plato quote?

From the Republic, Plato wrote "Until philosophers are kings or princes of this world have spirit and power of philosophy, and political greatness and wisdom meet in one, and those commoner natures who pursue either to the exclusion of the other are compelled to stand aside, cities will never have rest from their evils, no, nor the human race." Could you please explain this? I don't quite get what he means.

Most common sign of homophobia? What is it?

I say religion and people who just can't stand the sight of 2 guys or 2 ladies making out. This is sad to see what this world has come to. Because us gay people are a proud people and we are just looking to live our lives the same as you would a straight person. It should not matter who we love or what we do. There is nothing wrong with us and we are no different people then if we were to be straight. It is just too bad that we get labeled as bad people with some disease for this. I say the homophobics are the sick ones needed to be treated and not us!
